Bournemouth and Poole College made a significant commitment to developing Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) throughout the Southern area. This commitment saw the opening of the new STEM building at their North Road Campus in Poole.

This project saw the transformation of what was an old and drab looking building into a bright and inspirational learning hub. Having previously worked at the college, on the North Light Building Art Facility, Mildren Construction was again the successful Main Contractor for this project.

Works included the external replacement of cladding, glazing and doors, whilst internally the building was completely gutted leaving just the main shell and existing stair cases. Designs were developed with the college for the complete internal fit out providing new lecture theatres, classrooms, computer and science labs, an ideas room and a new lift to ensure access for all.

This project was completed under a JCT Design and Build Contract.
