We are members of the Solent Civil Engineering Employers Group, which in partnership with Fareham College has initiated the development of a dedicated Civil Engineering Training Centre (CETC) with specialist Civil Engineering and Groundworks Apprenticeships (CEGA) to which we intend to take on 2-4 apprentices every six months.
Each year we take on a student placement from the University of Plymouth and give them an insight into what its like working with a contractors. We give them varied experience, chances to work within different areas and learn from all of our staff.

Meet Natalie, our latest work experience person! Natalie wanted a career change and decided that construction was an exciting new path for her. After completing the CSCS training and funding her own dumper training, work experience was the next step but Natalie had found it tricky to find any.
Hampshire County Council contacted us to see if we could offer her any on-site experience. We, of course, snapped their hand off! After being part of the ‘Inspiring women into Construction’ event the other week, we felt this was a brilliant opportunity to get Natalie involved. After a site induction, safety briefing and tour, Natalie was given the keys to a dumper and four days of paid work experience at one of our current projects at Concorde Way in Segensworth. Natalie did such an amazing job, that we ended up offering her a full-time position which she accepted.
