Ashdown Retail Park, Uckfield
New Retail Park
Working for Bride Hall Developments and London Metric / Sharman Projects once again, Mildren has successfully undertaken construction of Ashdown Retail Park in Uckfield. The scheme comprises a 40,998sq ft retail park; a 20,998sq ft Marks and Spencer unit and a 20,000sqft Home Bargains unit.
Initially we undertook cut and fill to level the site and built a Kingpost retaining wall. Foundations are in-situ pads with bolt sets to receive the steel frame. M&E included provision of a TNS-earthed supply and we provided lighting and EV chargers to the car park via landlord supply. The project included all associated drainage and external works which included provision of 166 car parking spaces.
Environment and social value
The BREEAM rating is Good and our CCS score was a fantastic 45/45 taking into account Fresh Fruit Fridays amongst other community focused/employee initiatives. Other activities entailed our team giving a careers presentation to a local school during the project.
As part of the ecology plan, we installed a hibernaculum, an animal shelter.
