Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) training undertaken at Mildren HQ
Our Travis Perkins and Plot 3 Airport sites in Bournemouth have been classed as medium risk for unexploded devices so UXO training was essential to prepare the teams for potential hazards.
These photos show the sort of thing we’re looking out for!
Fascinating facts: there were 51 recorded air raids carried out in the Bournemouth area during WW2, resulting in 2271 individual recorded bomb strikes. Five of these were in close proximity to the new Travis Perkins site (on Ashley Road) with historic records showing the bombers’ flight paths directly over the site.
