Strip out and refurbishment of two existing B1 retail units

Following a two stage tender process, Mildren Construction were employed by LondonMetric to undertake the strip out and refurbishment of two existing B1 retail units at the Mountbatten Retail Park in Southampton, to create three new units for letting. 

Working in a busy trading estate, works included the replacement of all roof sheeting, insulation, guttering and the removal of an existing walkway canopy. 

New glazing and doors were fitted to the front of each unit which also required the installation of additional structural steel. New fire doors were installed throughout. 

New mezzanine floors were installed into all three units together with a personnel lift, giving a total combined floor space of 65,000 sq/ft. There were new incoming services and considerable service alterations required to suit the revised internal layout.
