Marine Parade Cycle Track

Pedestrian & Cycle Path Improvements

The works along the main road at Lee-On-Solent in Hampshire were split into three distinct zones and phases as follows.

Area A – Marine Parade West Central Area, required the realignment of the kerb line to provide a new bus layby with bus stop and associated facilities. Further works here included upgrading toucan crossing facilities and reconstruction of the footway and cycleway which also required construction of new feature planters and adjustments to the existing layout of the Marine Parade West Car Park No. 2.

Area B – Marine Parade West required the provision of new signage to convert the existing southern footway between Pier Street and Stubbington Lane to a shared cycle/footway by fitting road signs to lamp columns.

Works here also involved the of the footpath at the existing westbound Drake Road bus stop and constructing a section of cyclepath from Stubbington Lane to Monks Hill car park which is within Fareham Borough.

The final part of the works at Marine Parade East involved the widening of the existing 1.8m wide footway to form a 3m wide shared cycle/footway and the provision of a new pedestrian refuge to the south of Pier Street.
