Great Minster Street
Repaving & Carriageway Resurfacing
The scheme was to take up the existing paving and bed of the footways and carriageway, reconstructing and repaving using natural stone setts, flags and tarmacadam surfacing. Sundry drainage works were also undertaken which involved relaying existing drainage chutes from properties to the kerb. Finally, the existing surfacing was planed off and the new carriageway constructed in Great Minister Street.
Specification compliance was an essential requirement of the contract, so the finished result would match in with the vernacular of Great Minster Street and that of the adjacent High Street. Workmanship and specification compliance were assured by combining of the skill of our directly employed operatives with the same supply chain for provision of materials both of whom had previously worked on a major drainage and repaving scheme on Winchester High Street).
