Steel framed building consisting of 14 units

Mildren Construction has completed the shell and core for a large steel framed building which houses 14 industrial units. We were appointed by Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes to complete the works which has been developed to attract new businesses and provide vital space for those who are looking to house their businesses in the area.

The project progressed well with the scheme completed in the early Summer of 2021 when units were made available to rent.

As you can see in the photographs, with a new housing and leisure development to the front of the industrial units, the logistics for the scheme was fairly complex due to the multiple contractors delivering different types of work throughout the wider site, as well as the Mildren teams. To ensure there would be no disruption to the programme or the projects progress, we engaged early with key contractors to fully understand their programmes, aligning it seamlessly with ours and creating a solid line of communication between all parties.

One key aspect of this scheme was the proximity of the main railway line running adjacent to the build site. We engaged with Network Rail early and worked closely with them to review, monitor and record any risks associated with this element of the build, ensuring the site and the railway were completely segregated at all times.
