As part of Eastleigh Borough Council’s “Infrastructure first” programme, site wide infrastructure works have been carried out or are underway, primarily consisting of the north and south gateways (completed) and the main link road which is currently under construction, along with Chalcroft Tolls SUD’s to the North of Lower Acre and (lower) Foxwood Road joining the main link road to Chalcroft Tolls SUD’s.
Mildren carried out the civil engineering groundworks and installed the footpath and cycleway connecting Bubb Lane to Hedge End Railway Station, as well as the single crossing point at Burnetts Lane which are key components of the One Horton Heath offsite infrastructure works.
Comprehensive planning was essential to establish effective pedestrian diversion routes, including clear signage along the existing footpath between Bubb Lane and Hedge End Railway Station.
Additionally, a temporary closure of a playground at was implemented to ensure public safety. Our delivery strategy was designed to proactively manage these elements, ensuring timely execution while mitigating associated risks.
Consideration also had to be given for working in such close proximity to high voltage power lines, the railway line and open deep water.
