Construction of a new Wickes Unit to current Standards and Regulations

Working for Travis Perkins, this project required the design and construction of two retail units, housing Wickes and Dunelm Mill, in an existing building. The shell was extensively altered and refurbished to current Standards and Regulations. Externally, new parking and landscaping works were carried out after the provision of new incoming services.
The contract lasted 49 weeks because the building remained occupied and trading throughout the works, the Client relocated as the phased works were carried out.
Both units were constructed on a shell and core basis only, with the gross internal area of each unit being governed by the existing floor area which was approximately:
- Unit 1 (Wickes): 1895 m2 (20,014 ft2)
- Unit 2 (Dunelm Mills) 1782 m2 (19,189 ft2)
